About Us
Chemical & Pharmaceutical Industry Organization of the Philippines, Incorporated (CPIOPI)
is a domestic and non-stock corporation registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on April 14, 2014 and has started its commercial operations in July 2019 only.
CPIOPI has evolved progressively for 15 years now. The Association is recognized as the country’s primary partnership organization representing the chemical and pharmaceutical industry. CPIOPI actively coordinates with both government and non-government entities on matters concerning the industries.
BACKGROUND
CPIOPI PRIMER
The CPIOPI (Chemical and Pharmaceutical Industry Organization of the Philippines, Inc) is a growing organization of chemical and pharmaceutical industries who committed themselves to take active part in the prevention of chemical diversion and illegal trade of essential chemicals and controlled substances.
This effort is being undertaken to engage the industry against chemical diversion and regulatory compliance. The Philippine Chemical and Pharmaceutical Industry Code of Practice (PCPICOP) is in consonance with the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) entered by and between PDEA Compliance Service and the various chemical and pharmaceutical associations and entities. The PCPICOP has established uniform procedures and common approach to prevent the diversion of precursor which will facilitate voluntary notification of suspicious transactions by the industry to law enforcement agencies.

Association of Printing Inks Manufacturers (PAPIM), Drug Store Association of the Phils (DSAP), Philippine Pharmacists Association Inc (PPhA), Philippine Society of Hospital Pharmacists (PSHP), Adhesive Manufacturer Association of the Phils (AMAPI).

Dangerous Drugs Board held a meeting to establish core groups with sectoral composition :
a. Importer’s Group
b. Trader’s / Wholesaler’s Group
c. Manufacturer’s Group
d. Pharmaceutical Group
A chairman was elected, Code of Conduct, Memorandum of Agreement & Logo were initially drafted. A series of meetings and seminar were conducted.
Code of Conduct was developed but not adopted.

Philippines participated in the UNODC Strategy Meeting in Kuala Lumpur (Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Mynamar, Philippines, Thailand & Vietnam)

As a follow up activity, PDEA in consultation with the industry, initiated the revision of the Code of Practice and Memorandum of Agreement.
June 2008
The Code of Practice & Memorandum of Agreement were finalized.
